Angel Reese briefly criticizes Caitlin Clark in deleted post amid WNBA rivalry
In a social media post that has since been removed, WNBA rookie sensation Angel Reese seemed to criticize Caitlin Clark.
Reese and Clark, the NCAA’s all-time top scorer, have a WNBA rivalry that dates back to their college days.
The Chicago Sky Reese’s No. 8 overall selection has scored 35 points in two of her team’s last three games to help them win.
Nevertheless, in her first five games with the Indiana Fever, the number-one choice in 2024 Clark has not yet emerged victorious.

After the Sky’s most recent victory over the New York Liberty on Thursday night, Reese took a dig at Clark in a now-deleted post on X, the former name for Twitter.
“And that’s on getting a WIN in a packed area not just cause of one player on our charter flight. #SKYTOWN,” She ended her message with an emoji of a blowing kiss.
Clark has significantly increased the WNBA’s viewership.

She was a fierce rival with Reese, a product of the LSU Tigers, while she was a student at Iowa Hawkeyes.
This season, the WNBA is introducing private charter planes for teams for the first time.
LeBron James and NBA icon Charles Barkley are among the prominent figures who think Clark deserves recognition for bringing attention to the league.

Reese, though, addressed claims made on Thursday that Clark is the only reason behind the growing appeal of WNBA and women’s hoops.
‘It’s not just one person, I think people don’t realize that [because] the narrative out there is that just one person changing the game,” Angel Reese said.
“It’s a lot of us.
“There’s so many great players and it’s been long overdue and just being able to see that our impact has been able to change the game.”

‘I love it for us all, and we’re just going to continue to keep going.”
In the 2023 NCAA title game, Reese and the Tigers triumphed over Clark’s Hawkeyes.
Reese waved her hand in front of Clark’s face during the game.
In the same scene, minutes before she actually won a championship ring, Reese pointed her ring finger toward Clark.

Clark expressed her displeasure with the way the media covered Iowa’s road to the championship game, preferring to focus on the competition between herself and Reese on the court in the recently released Full Court Press four-part TV series.
On Friday night, when the Fever takes on the Los Angeles Spark, Clark will be aiming for her first victory.
