Angel Reese effortlessly tackles WNBA physical challenges during Chicago Sky training camp
In any sport, making the transition from college to the pros is a significant step up, and the WNBA is one place where that is especially true. Fans of the Chicago Sky are convinced that rookie Angel Reese belongs at the highest level after seeing the video of her response after she was put to the wolves during a physical test during training camp.
Angel Reese’s initial baskets for the Chicago Sky
Since they selected Reese and Kamilla Cardoso earlier this month, the Chicago Sky social media accounts have been closely observing the surge of new followers. On Instagram, the group wrote, “you all wanna see Angel score a bucket?”

In the corresponding video, Reese engaged in a drill focusing on her post-up game while facing off against men’s practice players. She made her way in for a neat score despite giving up some bulk to the opponent. She is demonstrating that her moves can be effective in the league, much like fellow rookie Caitlin Clark at Indiana Fever training.

In practice, WNBA teams mimic the size and ferocity of the W by using male players. This is a transition that frequently causes problems in the professional game for big men like Angel Reese, who always had a size and agility advantage in college.
Compared to other sports, women’s basketball has an even more pronounced spike since there are only 144 roster spaces available among the 12 WNBA clubs, which results in a very narrow pool of potential.

Reese is receiving high marks for her diligence and teamwork, though, so it seems like she is off to a great start. Notwithstanding her small stature, the former LSU standout might be making a name for herself in the Chicago organization with buckets like the one in the video.
“Actually I wasn’t as bad as I thought I was gonna be. I thought it was gonna be crazy,” After her initial practice, the Chi Barbie stated.
