Kristen and Tyler Gaffney flee California’s political climate, settling in Tennessee instead
Model for Sports Illustrated Kristen Gaffney made the decision to leave California because she was fed up with lawmakers taking advantage of her money. Despite the fact that she consistently pays taxes for her husband, former NFL running back Tyler Gaffney, the housing and homelessness situation is getting worse, according to her spouse.
The swimsuit model said in a Fox News interview that she had made the decision to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband and three children due to the measures taken by the Californian government to address the situation.

“You’ve taken enough from us, and you’re only showing me that it’s getting worse,” Gaffney stated in reaction to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’s announcement of the LA4LA program. Richer locals are asked to help address the homelessness issue as part of this campaign.

Nevertheless, the model voiced complaints, “I quite frankly feel a little bit taken advantage of when I, too, have had to struggle and to create my own opportunities through hard work and education,” and questioned, “Why should someone have a piece of my hard work?”
The cause of the crisis, in Gaffney’s opinion
The wife of the former New England running back went one step further and did not hold back in identifying the source of the issue: “The more we claim, and I use the word claim very strongly, that we’re helping these people, it seems like the situation is getting worse. This is the dirtiest I’ve seen our cities.”

“A lot of people come to LA thinking this is the land of my dreams, this is the land of opportunity, this is where I can create something and make a name for myself. LA homelessness…there’s nothing like it. I’ve been on the East Coast, I’ve been on the West Coast, I’ve been in the Bay Area,” Gaffney explained.
The US Department of Housing and Urban Development reports that 28% of the nation’s homeless population resides in California, which also has the highest percentage of unsheltered individuals (68%).

Gaffney then clarified that she and her spouse are, “constantly giving money,” but the resources do not seem to reach those who need it most. “Drug addicts should be last on the list. We should be focusing on the people who need help,” she said.
The celebrity flight
The Gaffneys are only the most recent departures from the Californian celebrity population. Actor Scott Baio listed his $4 million estate for sale recently in order to relocate to Florida.
