Dak Prescott addresses sexual assault allegations publicly for the first time
Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, is having an unusual offseason because, according to reports, Jerry Jones will not be renegotiating his contract and will likely leave Dallas at the end of the 2024 NFL season. In addition, a woman has accused him of sexual assault and has filed a police report for an alleged incident that occurred in 2017.

Prescott addressed the accusations for the first time when he spoke at the Texas Children’s Cancer Fund Gala on Friday. The Cowboys quarterback seemed confident in himself, as he told Jon Machota of The Athletic, even if the criminal and civil processes are still proceeding.
“I know the truth. I’m confident in what we filed. Very confident in what we filed. I know some things have changed in their sense in where they filed, but that doesn’t have any weighing on what we’re doing and how we’re going about our lawsuit.” – Dak Prescott
He said that his doubts about his contract with the Dallas Cowboys are unrelated to this particular case, claiming that they are unrelated problems.

The Cowboys’ star of the season at AT&T Stadium, Dak Prescott turned in a stellar 2023 campaign that garnered him accolades such as Most Valuable Player and nine interceptions while throwing for 4516 yards and a 69.5% completion percentage for 36 touchdowns. He was also never sacked more than forty times.

Entering his third decade of life, he may be signing his last major contract. He is presently making a guaranteed $160 million on his current four-year contract, so he is not broke, but he also won’t chase the money like some others may.
