What Is Reason Behind The Break-Up Of UFC Star Alex Pereira And His Long Term Girlfriend Merle Christine?
When Alex Pereira created UFC history towards the end of last year, it appeared like he had the love of his life by his side.
In November of last year, after defeating Jiri Prochazka in the second round of their Madison Square Garden brawl, the Brazilian bruiser became the fastest person in UFC history to win two weight titles.
Merle Christine, Pereira’s then-fiance, was there to support him, just as she had when he defeated Israel Adesanya to win middleweight gold in the same arena a year earlier.

Following his historic accomplishment, the couple appeared to be the epitome of happiness in the weeks that followed.
However, it was evident on social media in January that they had broken up.
On Instagram, ‘Poatan’ unfollowed Christine and deleted any references to her from his page, as perceptive MMA fans noticed.
It was not long before Pereira was questioned over the reported breakup.

Remarkably, he asserted that he had broken up with his fellow Brazilian since, at the time of their relationship, she was already married to another man.
He claimed to FulSend MMA: “Well, it’s a little hard to talk about this because, for me, I already deleted this person from my life.
“I would also like to ask my fans to also delete her from your life.
“It was a person I believed, I put her in my house, with my family.

“After all, I found out, she was married.”
After the knockout artist made a surprising allegation, Merle was flooded with messages and tags from fight fans who supported Alex Pereira, to the point where she had to make her account private.
She responded to her former lover’s accusation with a harsh comment, despite this.
She wrote: “Lol. Hurt men are really trying to invent whatever.
“Obviously, I was married in the past, (Alex was too) but I got separated before I started a relationship with Alex.

“You guys are stupid to think I could move states having a husband? Lol.”
Then, contrary to what he’d implied, Christine asserted that she made the decision to break up with Pereira.
She said: “I broke up with Alex BTW (by the way).
“And if I would start to speak about the reasons here it wouldn’t end good guys. Peace out.”

The headline event of UFC 300 in Las Vegas on Sunday morning will feature fan-favorite Pereira attempting to make the first defense of his light-heavyweight belt.
He will defend the championship for the first time against former contender Jahamal Hill, who has recovered remarkably from a catastrophic Achilles injury he sustained in July.
