To strengthen their bond, they collaborated. Mrs. Watson struggled with infertility, so the couple decided to adopt her two children, Dakota and Caleb, who are now lovely adults. The LIV Golfer was taught by this woman “what it was like to love another human being with all your heart,” but who is she really?
Gaining further insight into Angie Watson’s past
The 46-year-old spent the majority of her teenage years in Toronto, Canada, where she was born. She fell in love with basketball and made the decision to play it professionally while she was living in Canada. She played basketball for more than five years as a member of the basketball team at the Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate Institute, a public high school. The team won the Scarborough Championship in 1992 and the Toronto Metro Championship in 1993 under Angie’s leadership.

She continued to love basketball after relocating to the University of Georgia, where she signed as the “Lady Dogs’ first-ever signee from Canada.” She played in the 2000 SEC Championship and the 1999 NCAA Final Four after putting in a lot of work to go to the WNBA. Despite the difficulties Watson had while playing collegiate basketball, she nevertheless respects Coach Landers’ methods.
She stated: “I think Coach Landers’ style of coaching was geared toward developing players for future careers, either in basketball or otherwise. When I played at Georgia, I never understood why he was so demanding all the time; however, after being coached by him, I now know I could take anything thrown at me down the road.”

After graduating from college, she began working in Italy. It wasn’t until she returned to the United States in 2001 and signed Charlotte Sting that her ambitions of playing in the WNBA were realized. Only then did Bubba Watson confess his feelings for her, and they began dating.

Her numerous injuries caused her brief WNBA career to end in 2003. She married an American professional golfer in 2004. Her professional career took a positive turn in 2021 when the professional golfer’s wife was appointed head women’s basketball coach at Florida’s East Hill Christian School. She thinks, “My goal for a team is to push them harder than they ever thought they could push. When we push that hard, results in life are insurmountable.”
