SI Swimsuit rookie Berkleigh Wright retires as a Broncos cheerleader, leaving behind her pom poms

Going into the upcoming season, the Denver Broncos will be missing one veteran from their roster. They lost a captain, not just any old veteran.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie Berkleigh Wright bid Broncos Country farewell on Friday. It was a sudden relocation, but considering her modeling career, it was probably planned for a while. The next season, she won’t be back on the Mile High sidelines.

A statement that Berkleigh posted on her official Denver Broncos cheerleading account was also shared on the team’s main cheerleader account. She thought back on her time with the squad rather than indicating what was next for her.

She had something to offer everyone in there, just like a real pro. her friends, family, and teammates in addition to the fans, of course.

Broncos Country,

5 years, 63 women, 1 incredible journey. From Mexico, to Hawaii, to Japan and everywhere in between, this has truly been the adventure of a lifetime. I have so many people to thank for helping shape me into the woman I am today.

To my parents, family, and best friends – Thank you for being my #1 fans, on and off the field, and pushing me to chase my dreams. Thank you to my coaches for believing in me 7 years ago, and continuing to believe in me every day since. To my teammates, that have become family – Thank you for creating a home for me here. Dancing alongside you has been nothing short of a dream, and it has been an honor to get to lead you this last year. Lastly, to Broncos Country – Thank you for your unconditional support throughout my five seasons. Forever the best fans in the NFL!

I walked into that audition room 7 years ago as a girl, and I’m leaving this legacy as a woman. Without this team, I would not be headed where I am. My hope for those who enter this space next, always remember how truly invincible you are.

How lucky am I to have something so special in my life that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Whether Berkleigh is hanging up her pom poms permanently or simply for the orange and blue is unclear from that farewell. She says goodbye to Broncos Country leaving a lot of questions unresolved.

Even more, we are unsure of the exact relationship between the relocation and her professional background as a model or as a technical account manager and analyst.

With her upcoming appearance in the 60th-anniversary issue of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, which is scheduled to release in May, my preference would be to become a model.

There’s minimal question that the rookie SI Swimsuit won’t succeed in whatever comes next for her. As an NFL cheerleader, she became captain, and one of the most recognizable swimsuit publications dubbed her a rookie.
