After viewing the 10-part docuseries, McCourty, who played his whole 13-year career in New England and won three Super Bowls with the team’s now-retired quarterback Tom Brady and former head coach Bill Belichick, claimed he felt “duped” since it mainly focused on the team’s low points.

“I felt like I got kinda duped,” McCourty said in an interview with former Patriots safety Rodney Harrison, via Pro Football Talk. “I was like, ‘Man, this is gonna be great. Like the storytelling, we’re talking about this and we’re talking about that.’ Everything that we all gave to the 20 years that it encompassed, it only hit anything that was negative.”
“The lads stayed there after we won at a high level. I had two exit options, but I chose to sign back. There are explanations for this.
The Patriots selected McCourty in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft (27th overall), and he is a native of New Jersey.

Before retiring from football in March 2023, the former Rutgers standout went on to be selected for two Pro Bowls and was named to three second teams All-Pro teams. Since then, McCourty has been an analyst on NFL Network.
The last episode of the series was just made available. Every episode over the last few weeks has elicited a variety of responses. The way that Bill Belichick, who led the team for all six victories, was portrayed has drawn criticism from some. Some, however, commended the series for how it handled the Patriots dynasty.
