Colorado Deion Sanders Is Receiving Death Threats & Is Requiring Security
For part of the 2023 season, Deion Sanders dominated the collegiate football landscape, which greatly increased Colorado’s football program’s visibility. However, NIL collectives are currently one of the most talked-about parts of college athletics, and Sanders is already tired of what he sees as one of the main issues in the sport.
Colorado Deion Sanders Is Receiving Death Threats & Is Requiring Security
Deion Sanders is a divisive figure in a world where he isn’t hesitant to say what he thinks of NIL. Whether it’s in advertisements or on the sidelines as the Colorado football coach, Sanders isn’t afraid to voice his opinions.
Sanders disclosed to the students some startling details about the difficulties he encounters, including the fact that he has been the target of death threats and that he currently travels with security. He made light of the situation by joking, “We have to bring security because we receive death threats. I’m not lying; I’m very serious.”

The topic of name, image, and likeness (NIL) was then covered by Sanders, who emphasized that NIL is not precisely what people believe it is. He clarified that a large number of student-athletes are members of collectives rather than receiving NIL benefits. He compared it to passing around a collection plate at a church, where the participants split the money.
Never one to back down from a conversation, Sanders made the bold decision to focus only on how NIL Collectives are destroying the present collegiate sports landscape.
We need more people like @DeionSanders that are in LEADERSHIP positions. So many out there telling our youth “THEY CAN’T” instead of “YOU CAN” You’re good at what you do, when you can motivate someone and get them to a level they never thought they would reach. pic.twitter.com/OcogeopvQh

“NIL is not really what you think it is. All these kids are not getting NIL,” Deion Sanders told the class. “These kids are getting collectives. “Collectives, if we took an offering up in this classroom, we passed the bucket like the church and you put this collection plate, and you put your collective in and then \we say, ‘You know what, we’ve got 10 players up here, let’s divide that. That player right there should get $10, that player right there should get $20.’ That’s a collective.”
Deion Sanders now always travels with an officer as a result of this. Officer Rose was identified by his security during the lecture with “Professor Prime.” Since his time at Jackson State, he has been with Deion Sanders. Whether he’s on the field or working behind the scenes with the Colorado coach, he typically wears a vest with a western theme.

Some of the pupils were therefore taken aback when he was introduced to the class.
“We get death threats, so you know we have to bring security. I’m dead serious too, I’m not lying,” Sanders pointed out.
Deion Sanders was asked if Colorado can make the jump from 4-8 to National Title Contention👀
His response?
“Yeah, most definitely. Shoot, I believe, man. I don’t just wear this on my shirt and on my chest.”
