Michigan’s QB J.J. McCarthy Got Engaged To Long-term Girlfriend Katya Kuropas

A moment that will never be forgotten caps off J.J. McCarthy’s extraordinary start to 2024.

Longtime girlfriend Katya Kuropas and the Michigan quarterback announced their engagement on Friday via a shared Instagram picture.

The description for Kurpas’ engagement photo gallery said, “Me, You & Marley Forever & Ever.” The photo gallery featured a photograph of the pair on the beach with their dog, Marley, and one outfit in white.

After leading Michigan to an undefeated national championship and announcing his intention to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, it was quite the cap to a month-long event.

“I couldn’t be more grateful for who you are and everything you do!,” Kuropas was posted by McCarthy on Instagram in October. “You make me the best version of myself and it has been a complete blessing to continually watch you grow into the amazing woman you are. I love you my queen!!!

According to ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr., McCarthy, who turned 21 on Saturday, is regarded as the No. 5 quarterback in this year’s selection, with USC’s Caleb Williams predicted to pick first overall.

After he announced his draft registration, McCarthy gushed over Kuropas, referring to her as his “soulmate.”

“To my love, Katya… you are my soulmate, best friend, and my rock. I am so blessed to be your partner now and forever. I am so excited to continue our journey together,” McCarthy at the time revealed in a social media post.

On the field at NRG Stadium in Houston, the couple, who celebrated their fifth anniversary of dating in October, shared a kiss in celebration of the Wolverines’ first championship since 1997.

This season, the quarterback passed for 2,991 yards, 22 touchdowns, and four interceptions.
