Anthony complained about the Nuggets’ hasty decision to trade his No. 15 jersey to Jokic. Anthony played in the NBA for 19 seasons, the first eight of which he spent with the team.

“I’m like, (expletive) is going on?,” Anthony said, reflecting on his great time with the Nuggets. He also voiced his astonishment and dissatisfaction at the jersey number move. fifteen? Now simply begin to consider this, since this is the story they are putting out there.
‘He wanted to leave. He wanted to do this.’ Nah. But why would you disrespect by even offering that?”
Anthony thinks the organization’s intention to dissociate itself from Jokic’s legacy was evident when it decided to give him his old number on purpose.

Anthony believes that this move is a clear signal to “erase everything,” even though he has spent seven full seasons with the Nuggets and led the team to several postseason appearances and multiple All-Star selections.
“He could’ve been trying to pay homage, I don’t know… But what I believe, is that they gave him No. 15 to try to erase what I did,” he added.
More than three years before Jokić was selected by the Nuggets with the No. 41 pick in 2014, Anthony was infamously moved to the New York Knicks during the 2010–11 campaign. It took Jokic four years to make his team debut in 2015, the year Anthony left Denver.
“It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, we’ve got numbers to choose from.’ It was like, ‘here, take this one, you got 15,’ And y’all put Jokic in the middle of that. He don’t know what the f— going on.”

The No. 15 jersey was only worn once, during the 2013–14 season, by Anthony Randolph, who received it before to his departure from the team and Jokić’s arrival.
Jokic may have wanted to honor Anthony by donning the No. 15 jersey, which he has worn since playing youth basketball in Serbia.
He sees it as a purposeful attempt to rewrite the narrative around his tenure with the Nuggets.
Even while Jokic is now the team’s face, Anthony stresses that in Denver, the number 15 now represents a new era—that of the Joker.
