Kevin Durant Is Frustrated With The Phoenix Suns: Is The Tenure Already Over?

Despite Kevin Durant’s outstanding performances, which has seen him average 30.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 24 games, the Phoenix Suns, who are presently 14-14 and out of postseason contention, are being disappointed with their start to the season.

Kevin Durant Is Frustrated With The Phoenix Suns: Is The Tenure Already Over?

The squad’s difficulties have been greatly exacerbated by injuries, especially Devin Booker’s nine-game absence and Bradley Beal’s restricted six-game availability. This has shown a lack of depth on the team.

As to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant is expressing his anger to the Suns about their present personnel issue. Bradley Beal’s inability to play consistently and the team’s “underwhelming supporting cast” were identified by Wojnarowski as the team’s main pressure points. Additionally, Phoenix does not presently have any draft picks or tradeable contracts to bolster its squad.

“Part of that, certainly, is the missed games from Brad Beal. This team was built around those three stars, the underwhelming supporting cast that comes from those massive trades for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal that really gutted the organization.

“It is a stark reminder of how short of a window and how this team has to win big, and has to win big quickly, based on how it was constructed and having Kevin Durant playing at an All-NBA level. There’s a lot at stake for this organization, it’s got to change soon.”

At 14–15, Phoenix is presently half a game out of the Western Conference play-in round. Their remaining strength of schedule ranks third in the league.

This Suns squad does not currently have any players out. In the Beal deal, Phoenix tied up six second-round swaps (2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2030) and four first-round pick swaps (2024, 2026, 2028, 2030).

All that for six games from a ball-dominant, thirty-year-old point guard whose value is decreased in a big-three attack when he is the third player on the court.

It seemed inevitable that this would happen. A significant wager on the skill of Durant, Beal, and Devin Booker was made by trading for the point guard for the Washington Wizards. With a collective salary cap of $130.4 million, the three are only $5 million and change below the salary cap set by the league.

The Suns signed minimum players because they were subject to a hard cap at the first wage level. Their only real acquisition was Jusuf Nurkic, a center whose specialization is on the offensive end of the court. The deal has transpired in a very unfavorable manner.

How much does kd average 2023?
