Rashee Rice Knows His Limit, Will Not Take Pictures With Travis Kelce’s Girlfriend

Rashee Rice, a wide receiver with the Chiefs, kept his composure surrounding Taylor Swift.

In the most recent episode of the podcast “Airing It Out,” which features former NFL wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh, Rice gave an explanation for why, when he spotted the pop star during a group outing, he chose not to ask for a picture. The pop star is currently dating Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Chiefs.

“I’ve seen her, but I didn’t go up to her like, ‘Can I get a picture’ or nothing like that,” the 23-year-old rookie said.

“Because, you know, those guys like Trav and Pat [Mahomes], they invite us out because they know that we are the only guys that see them every day and see them as who they really are and not ‘Bro, you’re a superstar football player.’

“No, it’s just Pat. It’s just Trav. And I wouldn’t go up to another dude’s girl and be like, ‘I get a picture with you?’

“If my girl was out I’d be like, ‘Can we get a picture with the girls together,’ but I’ve got nothing to do with that.”

Rice continued by praising Swift for sticking with the Chiefs.

“I’m happy for Trav and she is real good with support for the team,” he said. “She has brought a lot more fans to the team too.”

When Rice said that Swift has attracted more fans to the NFL, he was right.

Since the couple was first linked in September, Swifties have contributed to an uptick in jersey sales and ticket purchases.

When the singer of “Cruel Summer” showed up at Arrowhead Stadium on September 24 for the Chiefs-Bears game, she almost shattered the internet.

Following their October public announcement of their relationship, Kelce and Swift, both 34, have become well-known figures in both athletics and popular culture.

Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, agrees that it is beneficial for the league.

“Listen, they’re happy,” Goodell said during an interview with “CBS Mornings” last month. “They seem to be enjoying their relationship. That’s great in and of itself, but it has connected more fans of Taylor’s and more fans of the NFL in some ways.

“[Swift is] an unbelievable artist, obviously, Travis is an unbelievable player and I think it’s great for the league to have that kind of attention – so we welcome it.”

Swift was welcomed with placards and applause from supporters of both teams as she attended the Chiefs’ victory over the Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium, one of her favorite performance locations.

Kelce complimented the New England supporters and the Patriots organization for their kindness and hospitality toward Swift during Sunday’s game.

“I’ll say this, they showed Taylor at the game,” Eagles center Jason Kelce revealed to his brother and co-host on their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday. “And, I mean, you don’t see an entire home team fan base go insane for somebody wearing the opposite team’s colors.

“[It] just shows you how amazing that girl is. They went absolutely insane when they showed Taylor on the screen.”
