Coastal Carolina football coach Tim Beck responded to the uproar surrounding a removed picture that depicted him alongside the team mascot and the dance team, all wearing matching teal bikinis.
The shirtless photo, captured on a Hawaii beach before the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl, was initially shared on Coastal Carolina University’s football Instagram account but was subsequently taken down without any clarification.

Beck addressed the matter during a midweek press conference when asked about the deleted photo, acknowledging the ongoing coverage of the team’s journey.
“It was a very spontaneous event,” he noted.
“There was no intent to try to generate any particular kind of response one way or the other of how that was. So, I mean, that’s that’s kind of my statement really on it.”

Responses to the photo were diverse, with certain players, such as offensive lineman Will McDonald and backup quarterback Jarrett Guest, expressing their support. Conversely, negative remarks characterized the image as inappropriate and unprofessional.

“Coach Beck has stated that the photo was taken spontaneously while members of the University’s travel group were on the beach together. There was no intent to generate a particular response,” The statement was made by Jerry Rashid, the Director of Communication at CCU.
