Tom Brady Criticises Colts QB, Defends Damontae Kazee: “QBs needs to read coverages and throw the ball to the right places”
The NFL suspended Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee without pay for the balance of the regular season and any future postseason games as part of its latest measures to clamp down on “unnecessary” hits during games. Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl winner, doesn’t appear to agree with this choice, though.

Unexpectedly, Tom Brady supported the defence in this particular situation.

The quarterback stated in the comments, “Hard hits happen. Nobody likes to see players get hurt.” “QBs should not be throwing the ball in areas where they are exposing their own teammates to these types of hits.
“Coaches need to coach better, QBs needs to read coverages and throw the ball to the right places, and defenders should aim for the right hitting areas. To put the blame on the defense player all the time is just flat out wrong,” he continued. “Need better QB play!! It’s not OK, QBs, to get your WRs hit because of your bad decisions!”
This is what I believe to be every Damontae Kazee hit that resulted in a fine. The only one that was a penalty was the Michael Pittman one. Kazee should not have been ejected nor suspended pic.twitter.com/PsNoNXkkw9

Others sided with the seven-time Super Bowl champ.
Kazee was suspended by the NFL for the remainder of the regular season and was not allowed to play in any of the Steelers’ postseason games. Pittman Jr. received a pass from Gardner Minshew II during the second quarter of Saturday’s game at Lucas Oil Stadium, which resulted in the collision. Following the play, the fourth-year receiver was placed in the concussion protocol.

Kareem Jackson, a safety with the Denver Broncos, has already served two suspensions this season for reckless tackling, according to the league. Linebacker Denzel Perryman of the Houston Texans was also suspended for a hit on wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals that was deemed dangerous.
On Sunday, one day after his team defeated the Steelers 30–13, Colts head coach Shane Steichen spoke with the media about the play.

“It probably shouldn’t happen. He led with the crown of his helmet and you never want to see that,” he said. “Do those happen in football sometimes? Yes. But you don’t want to see it.”
