CJ Beathard’s Link Up With Taylor Swift Goes Viral After Him Replacing Trevor Lawrence for Jaguars
It’s not just at her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Chiefs games that Taylor Swift is taking over the NFL.
A previous image of Swift posing with Jacksonville’s backup quarterback, C.J. Beathard, surfaced on X as the former Iowa product relieved an injured Trevor Lawrence, turning the 33-year-old pop diva into a social media discussion topic during the Bengals-Jaguars game on Monday night.

Growing up in the Nashville region, Beathard played alongside country music singers as his father, Casey Beathard, is a musician. In the Jaguars’ 34–31 overtime loss, Beathard completed 9 of 10 ball attempts for 63 yards.
As Casey Beathard stated in a 2015 ESPN story on his kid, “It was just natural to be hanging out at Kenny Chesney’s house, or sitting in a studio and Trace Adkins is singing.”
“Then on weekends we’d drive down to Atlanta or fly out to San Diego and they (C.J. and brothers Tucker and Clay) got to spend a lot of time in the locker room and on the sidelines. They got to be around their heroes.”

NFL executive and former general manager of the Chargers Bobby Beathard, a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was Beathard’s grandpa.
In the 2017 NFL Draft, the 49ers selected 30-year-old C.J. Beathard 104th overall, marking the start of his NFL career.
Before joining the Jaguars in 2021—the same year that Lawrence, 24, moved to Jacksonville—he played for four seasons in San Francisco.
