James Harden Finally Reveals The Reason Behind Calling Daryl Morey A ‘Liar’

A few weeks ago, James  transferred to the Los Angeles Clippers from the Philadelphia 76ers. His discordant relationship with Sixers president Daryl Morey and the team’s refusal to extend a new contract were the main causes of his departure.

Harden went on to request a trade since, it seems, Morey never followed through on his earlier pledge to provide the former NBA MVP a max deal.

Sam Amick questioned He on if he had been “actually told by the Sixers that you had a deal coming” after he said in an interview with The Athletic that he had recently made compromises in terms of money and role.

Amick inquired as to if James had heard the organization’s claim that he was closing a “max” contract, to which Harden replied, “Yes.” Indeed.

“Yeah, me and Daryl had a really good relationship. So (in the past), a week or two after we lose in the playoffs, it would be all about trying to figure out how to improve the team. (They’d talk about) ‘How do we get better?’ And that’s been going on for 10-plus years, you know what I mean?” Harden  said in the interview.

“And then this year, there was no communication. And at that point, it’s like, ‘OK, I see what’s going on.’ I’m very intelligent. So then I just figure out ‘What’s my next move, and what do I want to do?’ So I understand that, at the end of the day, this is a business. And just like he has to do what’s best for his organization, I’ve got to do what’s best for me and my family. It’s as simple as that.”

Going forward, He is still attempting to establish rapport with his all-star colleagues, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook, and find his spot in the Clippers rotation.

Despite this, the Clippers have only managed nine victories in their previous 19 games and just six in their past ten.

In contrast, the Sixers, who now sit fourth in the East with 12 wins and 7 defeats, have been playing well since Harden’s departure.
