Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins stole a cameraman’s phone to celebrate after scoring a touchdown in a Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. The New York Post reports that the NFL banned cinematographer Kevin Fitzgibbons on Wednesday for the rest of the 2023 season and “possibly for good” for enabling Hill to use his camera as a prop during the celebration.

Because Hill used the phone as a prop, his celebration went viral.

Fitzgibbons claimed in a video that was shared on social media, “The NFL then informed me that I was suspended for the remainder of the season and possibly for good.”

The league punished cameraman Kevin Fitzgibbons for the whole season and “possibly for good” for letting Hill use his camera for the dramatic effect.

Following the Dolphins’ Week 6 victory against the Panthers, the celebration went viral right away.

The Post received confirmation from the NFL that Fitzgibbons’ credentials were revoked for the remainder of the season.

“The NFL then let me know that I was suspended for the remainder of the season and possibly for good,” Fitzgibbons, 20, said in a video posted to his social media accounts.

“They said regardless if I knew the celebration was coming or not, I still had to be disciplined and that I shouldn’t have jumped on the sidelines after the play. One of the best  moments of my life turned upside down in a matter of seconds. I get why the NFL had to make this decision and wish I could’ve done something to prevent it, but I’m thankful for the memory Tyreek gave me.
