NFL RedZone’s Commercial-Free Football Was Halted By Evacuation Alarm
Reporter Scott Hanson broke away from the Buffalo Bills vs. Philadelphia Eagles game in mid-air to inform viewers of the “unprecedented” circumstance as the alert was audible in the background.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is a first in my twenty-something-year broadcasting career,” he said. “Right now, an alarm is going off in the NFL RedZone studios located in Inglewood, California. We are being told we need to evacuate the building. We do not know the nature of the emergency.”

Hanson continued by stating that the alarm for NFL RedZone was “unprecedented”. Additionally, he informed the audience that he and the other program staff members would have to temporarily leave their positions.
Because of this, the NFL RedZone producers decided to keep the Eagles vs. Bills game running while Hanson promised to provide fans an update on their circumstances as soon as he could.

“Our control room needs to evacuate at this time,” Hanson stated. “The studio in which I’m standing needs to evacuate at this time. We are all good right now; we’re remaining calm, but we are following protocols as I’m sure you all would at your places of work. So to be continued, hopefully, although this game is in the fourth quarter, I will come back and give you a live update if and when I am able to. Thank you for your understanding and your patience.”
Since the NFL RedZone’s inception in 2009, Hanson has served as its host. Every Sunday, the show, which has swiftly gained popularity among viewers, alternates between games, showcasing the highlights of each one as it happens.

When NFL Sunday Ticket switched to YouTube TV this season, Hanson continued to host the show. Andrew Siciliano anchored the Red Zone, a dedicated channel on DirecTV, which was Sunday Ticket’s longtime home.
Every week, RedZone airs from the NFL Network headquarters in Inglewood, next to SoFi Stadium. On typical NFL Sunday during the offseason, The Athletic reports that about 300 people are employed in the headquarters. The Baltimore Ravens were also the guest of the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday night.
