Here Are Texans QB C.J. Stroud’s Stats To Blow Your Mind

The Houston Texans outlasted the Arizona Cardinals, 21-16, despite rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud’s first game with multiple interceptions.

Here Are Texans QB C.J. Stroud’s Stats To Blow Your Mind

Fittingly, they did so when Will Anderson Jr., Stroud’s fellow first-round pick in 2023, struck quarterback Kyler Murray, ending Arizona’s final hopes of a rally.

Although the Texans had already chosen quarterback C.J. Stroud with the second overall choice, Anderson was viewed by Houston as an additional important player for head coach DeMeco Ryans, who was in his first season.

They were aware that the Cardinals needed to rebuild before they could field Murray or his replacement for the whole season.

Stroud has thrown for 300 yards or more in five games this season, including a 336-yard touchdown pass in a Week 11 victory (21-16) over the Arizona Cardinals. With five total 300-yard passing performances going into Week 12, Stroud and Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagoviola are still tied for the lead in the NFL.

In three consecutive games, Stroud has thrown for 1,162 yards and eight touchdowns, surpassing 300 passing yards. The Texans are 3-0 after Stroud’s outstanding run of games, which is hardly unexpected.

Nevertheless, Stroud’s rise and the QB’s historically high win total have put them in the middle of the postseason chase 11 weeks into the season.

Stroud joins former Indianapolis Colts star Andrew Luck as the only quarterback in the common draft era with a winning record through ten starts, according to CBS Sports.

The Texans have won four of the last five games including three straight. They are only one game behind the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3) at 6-4.

Stroud has amassed 1,695 passing yards in five games at NRG Stadium, proving he’s at home there. That’s the most by a quarterback through five home starts in NFL history, according to OptaStats.

With 12 touchdowns and four interceptions under his belt, Stroud has guided the Texans to a commanding 4-1 record at home. Houston has defeated opponents by a total score of 110-72 in their four home victories.
