QB Joe Burrow And Timeline Of His Injuries Over Years
Before the Cincinnati Bengals‘ trip to play the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, quarterback Joe Burrow was seen with what seemed to be a brace on his throwing hand.
What is Joe Burrow’s latest injury?
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk claims that the Bengals uploaded and later removed a video of their arrival in Baltimore on Wednesday. Later, WCPO’s Caleb Noe shared a slowed-down clip of the footage that highlighted Burrow’s right hand’s brace or sleeve:
After stepping off the team bus in Baltimore, where the Bengals will play the Ravens on “Thursday Night Football” on Prime Video, Burrow was spotted wearing something wrapped over his right hand.

The 26-year-old signal caller was seen leaving the team jet in another close-up shot with an iPad in his obviously bandaged or braced right hand.
Burrow’s injuries have not been disclosed by the Bengals.
Burrow is not included on the Bengals’ injury report for Thursday’s game, which helps to explain why many were surprised to see the brace.
Two weeks ago, during the Bengals’ victory against the Buffalo Bills, Burrow’s throwing hand suffered a cut finger. His performance was unaffected, as he completed 31 of 44 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns.
Oh, maybe that right wrist wrap that Joe Burrow mysteriously had on was for a purpose after all…

As reported by Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, Burrow stated following the game that it was “just a little cut” and “nothing bad.”
Burrow’s season has been marred by injuries; a calf issue kept him out of the preseason and almost all of training camp.
It’s impossible to identify the object for sure. Burrow seems to be throwing regularly in practice and wasn’t listed as injured this week. This might be a preventative measure, a real, serious injury, or something as trivial as a decision made for fashion or a pair of gloves that make using a tablet easier.

“Is that below the wrist or above?”

Joe Burrow’s injury timeline
Wednesday, Nov. 15: In a video posted on social media by the Bengals, Burrow is observed by sleuths to have something on his right wrist. Although the video was eventually removed, it raised concerns about whether the Bengals quarterback could be having a new issue.
Thursday, Nov. 16: After throwing Mixon off, Clowney takes down Burrow. Burrow seemed to stumble onto his right hand. He quickly throws to Mixon for a score on the following play, but before he can be grabbed, he grabs his right wrist and runs to the sideline. He tried to toss the football but lost his hold, so he headed for the locker room. He stayed away from the game. Taylor says after the game that the QB has a sprained wrist.

Friday, Nov. 17: Burrow was scheduled for an MRI early that day in order to assess his wrist issue in more detail. His 2023 season would end due to a ruptured ligament, as proven by the findings.
QB Joe Burrow And Timeline Of His Injuries Over Years
August 2017: Despite being his first injury, this one could have had the most effect on Burrow’s career. Burrow injured a bone in his throwing hand before to Ohio State’s 2017 season, which ultimately prevented him from playing from the outset. He was the second man in line behind starter J.T. Barrett, even though he was not expected to start. Due to his injury, Dwayne Haskins was forced to step up to the backup position, which ultimately helped him earn Ohio State’s starting position for 2018 and force Burrow to move to LSU. Following the operation, Burrow did play in five Buckeye games in 2017. However, Haskins replaced Barrett late in the season after the latter sustained an injury in a tight game against Michigan.
I like to be objective, regardless of how much I like someone.
If Lamar Jackson, Tua Tagovailoa, and hell, Carson Wentz, are all deemed “injury prone,” then we have to acknowledge that Joe Burrow is injury prone too.pic.twitter.com/VbMQVZFB7a

January 2020: Many people saw Burrow’s 2019 season as the greatest collegiate football squad ever as he guided the Tigers to an incredible run. However, there were undoubtedly some hiccups along the road. James Skalski, a linebacker for Clemson, gave him a strong hit during the second quarter of the national championship game. For the remainder of the game, Burrow was obviously in discomfort, yet he still managed to win. He subsequently claimed to have torn some cartilage in his ribs, but he played down the injuries at the time.
November 2020: This was Burrow’s second most significant injury, if his fractured hand was the first. Ten games into his first year, Burrow was plainly in excruciating discomfort after being hit low against Washington while trying to get a throw away. His 2020 season was cut short when it was discovered that he had ruptured his left knee’s ACL and MCL, requiring him to be taken off the field. He had 32 sacks in just 10 games.

July 2022: Burrow had a healthy stretch of time with very few little setbacks. However, Burrow had an appendectomy, which kept him out of action for much of the preseason, just as he was starting to feel like he was going to have his first completely regular preseason. Before he began to improve in the third week of the season, he and the Bengals had a sluggish start, thus the impact was seen early on.
August 2023: Burrow emerged limping from training camp after rolling out and tossing a ball, continuing the pattern of struggling through ailments to open the preseason. His season may not have started as planned when it was subsequently discovered that he had strained his right calf. Burrow wound up playing to begin the year, but got off to another slow start, and did not appear to fully return to health until Week 5.
Times I’ve shedded a tear because of the Bengals:

November 2023: Things soured for Burrow once more, just when it seemed like things were really starting to click. Before the Bengals’ game against the Ravens on “Thursday Night Football,” on Wednesday, the quarterback was observed to have something on his right wrist. Later in the game, after completing a pass to Josh Mixon, he fell to the sideline. Burrow tried to pass the ball, but he was unable to hold onto it. Due to a ruptured ligament in his right wrist, which would necessitate a season-ending injury, he was later declared out for the remainder of the campaign.
