Kiffin can be heard instructing Rollins to “go read your f–king rights about mental health” on the Rollins recording that A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports was able to get. Kiffin then goes on to remark, “We can kick you off the team.”

Rollins is suing Kiffin and Ole Miss in federal court, claiming the coach “grossly reckless and indifferently” treated him and that Kiffin “ignored” signs that the defensive tackle was depressed. Rollins is seeking $10 million in compensatory damages and $30 million in punitive damages.

After Kiffin informed the Ole Miss coach that he would be “moved from his defensive tackle position to the scout team on the offensive line” on February 27, Rollins informed the player that he would be taking a mental health leave.

Kiffin and Rollins didn’t meet again until the end of March, despite several attempts to get together sooner. At that point, things seemed to be becoming serious, which was then legally recorded by Rollins

Kiffin and the university’s attorneys moved to dismiss the lawsuit on Wednesday, citing the fact that Rollins “has not alleged Ki⬃n treated him differently than other similarly situated individuals, much less that he did so with discriminatory intent because of Plaintiff’s race or sex.” The motion was obtained by Perez.

Perez said that court documents indicated Josie Nicholson, the Ole Miss associate athletic director for sport psychology, instructed Rollins to meet with Kiffin on March 7. The meeting was ultimately held on March 21, and the transcript is included in the lawsuit.

You can read and hear the exchange below. Front Office Sports published the audio on Thursday on X, a site that was formerly known as Twitter.

“If you would have come here when you kept getting messages the head coach wants to talk to you, and you say ‘I’m not ready to talk to him,'” Kiffin stated.

“I wasn’t,” Rollins responded.

“What (expletive) world do you live in,” Kiffin fired back.

“I don’t understand why you have to be disrespectful, honestly,” Rollins said.

“Get out of here,” Kiffin said. “You’re off the team. You’re done. See ya. See Ya. Go. Go. And guess what, we can kick you off the team. Go read your (expletive) rights about mental health. We can kick you off the team for not showing up. When the head coach asks to meet with you, and you don’t show up for weeks? Ok, we can remove you from the team. It’s called being a (expletive), it’s called hiding behind (expletive) and not showing up to work.”

According to reports, Rollins is requesting “$30 million in punitive damages from Kiffin, and $10 million in compensatory damages from Ole Miss and Kiffin.” In addition, he is asking for an injunction to be reinstated and a temporary restraining order.
