In college football, Caleb Williams is the current Heisman Trophy winner. He has consistently been a top pick for several NFL clubs throughout scouting and player selections for the NFL draft in 2024 as a standout quarterback for the USC Trojans. The Trojans, however, suffered a number of losses during their current NCAA campaign, which contributed to their unimpressive 7-3 record.

Jerry Recco brought up Williams during a Monday segment of “The Warm Up Show” with Dukes and Recco. The topic was how the Giants could need to think about selecting a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft with a potential top-five selection.

Dukes believes that Williams’ incapacity to control his emotions is the reason he wouldn’t be a good fit to take over as quarterback of the New York Giants, who could be in the market for a new quarterback and will probably have a top pick in the draft. Williams has been known to cry after USC’s most recent loss to Washington.

Dukes said, “He ain’t gonna make it here.” “Guy crying in… not interested,” he went on to add. For sportsmen in New York, things become better, particularly if they are quarterbacks and first-round picks who are anticipated to lead and revitalize their teams. Williams might possess unmatched skill, but he lacks the mentality to make it in New York.

On his OutKick podcast, “The Five Spot,” former Eagles great Donovan McNabb expressed little concern about Williams’ emotional outburst.

“To me, personally, we want our players to be vulnerable. We want our players to be up front. We want our players to show emotion. When they do show emotion, now they become targets for everyone to now start throwing darts at them because they are emotional, as they call them ‘super sensitive,’” McNabb said.

“I didn’t have a problem with it. People are talking about it should hurt his draft status, which it should not hurt his draft status. Because on the field, he’s one of the best players in college football. He’s a leader, he prepares well, and he’s out there playing from the pocket and outside the pocket which he’s a premiere talent.”

Different people have different opinions on showing emotions. Well, I think it is very important for a Sportsman to have emotions. Williams crying in the stands completely shows how much he cares about the game.
