Get To Know QB Tyson Bagent’s Dad: Travis Bagent Arm Wrestling World Champion

But we’ll shed some light on his father in this post. Without further ado, let’s examine Travis Bagent, the father of Tyson Bagent.

Multiple people refer to Travis Bagent as “The Beast” because of his multiple world titles won in arm wrestling. The 47-year-old started playing the sport in the late 1990s and continues to compete in events today.

At both the national and international levels, Travis Bagent has won several arm wrestling titles. Over the course of his more than two-decade career, he has won 28 world titles, according to NFL Network.

The older Bagent became interested in arm wrestling while serving in the Marines in the 1960s and 1970s. He later built two clubs in West Virginia where arm wrestling matches were held: The Big Arm in Shepherdstown and Billy Jack’s in Charles Town.

Bagent’s reputation rose as he proceeded to participate in arm wrestling competitions. In Poland, he gained the moniker “The Beast” in 2004 because he started to act like a formidable opponent at the table. Given that the proprietor of the CrossFit facility is 6-3 and weighs 265 pounds, the nickname makes sense.

Bagent’s skill in arm wrestling has allowed him to make a good living out of a pastime. In 2016, he informed Cobb that he was earning between $500,000 and $1 million by participating in tournaments, organizing expos, and officiating them; prior to that, it was only “a $25,000 annual situation.”

That’s part of what made him develop into what he considers to be one of the all-time great arm wrestlers.

Travis Bagent continues to compete in arm wrestling on the professional circuit these days but with fewer world championship appearances than in the past. His enthusiasm seems to be focused on his kid becoming the best version of himself throughout his rookie season and beyond, and fulfilling the NFL dream.

How Is Tyson Bagent Performing?

In relation to Tyson Bagent, the former student of Shepard University, his professional career has started off very well.

The NCAA record holder was not taken by any club in the 2023 NFL Draft, but that didn’t stop the Chicago Bears from signing Bagent practically immediately. Bagent then started the season as the backup to Justin Fields.

Tyson has accumulated 245 throwing yards, one touchdown, and one interception in his debut year. Additionally, he contributed to the Bears’ 2-5 record.
