WR Chase Claypool Talks About Leaving Bears & Embracing New Chapter With Dolphins
On Wednesday, Chase Claypool stepped in front of his locker for the first time as a Dolphin, ready to put a disastrous tenure with the Chicago Bears behind him and embrace his new role as part of Miami’s top-ranked offence.

Claypool’s time in Chicago came to an end barely 11 months after the Bears acquired him from Pittsburgh in November of last year. The Dolphins acquired the 25-year-old last week in a deal.
Eleven months after giving up what would become the 32nd selection in the 2023 NFL Draft to acquire Claypool, the Bears let him go for close to nothing.

The Dolphins acquired the final three months of Claypool’s rookie contract for draft compensation worth a seventh-round pick in 2025 last week.
Excited for the new opportunity and excited to work with coach (Mike) McDaniel and Tua (Tagovailoa),” Claypool said. “And excited to play alongside (Jaylen) Waddle and Tyreek (Hill), and a bunch of new receivers.”

So, sure, the Bears were done with Claypool for obvious reasons. They had major concerns with his attitude, which was reflected itself in his poor performance in games.
“I just think that, when you lose like a lot of games in a row, you know, there’s frustration, naturally. I think, you know, that’s new for everybody,” Claypool said.

“I’m sure from the top down. So I think [I’m] just being excited, you know, about like, you know, getting some wins and stuff like that. I think that just comes naturally. And once you start winning, you know, things start getting less pressure, obviously.”
Claypool became unhappy with Chicago’s inability to win, as the squad had lost 14 consecutive games before winning against Washington last Thursday. The Bears were apparently dissatisfied with Claypool’s performance. And the connection rapidly withered.
