Everyone seemed to want to hop on the Deion Sanders and Colorado Buffaloes bandwagon.

Despite their 3-2 record and recent defeats to Oregon and USC, the Buffs remain the most exciting team in town.

Sanders’ appearance also suggests a similar viewership outside those white borders. There have been notable fans on the field at every CU game this autumn. Lil’ Wayne, Offset, Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Owens, Warren Sapp, Michael Irvin, The Rock, Kawhi Leonard, and Key Glock are just a few examples.

Since Sanders took over the show in December 2022, massive performers such as The Rock, DaBaby, Terrell Owens, and Snoop Dogg have appeared.

It’s easy to watch videos and images of these celebs at Colorado games and think it’s all for the show, that it’s simply celebrities taking advantage of an opportunity or ‘Deion being Deion,’ but that’s not the truth.

Sanders recently spoke with CBS Sports Colorado’s Romi Bean about why he’s brought in so many celebrities to talk to his team this season, and his argument was really sincere.

“You want these young men that, most of them come from not great situation, you want them to see success and identify success,” Sanders explained. “You’ve got to understand, that a lot of these young men have not met guys of this status and the standard. How many guys on the team do you think have met The Rock? You know, seeing the Rock somewhere?”

“It’s great for these young men to see success. Because it comes in many forms. You don’t just have to have a bat, ball and a glove to be successful,” he continued.

Sanders then stated that rather than putting on a spectacle, each individual he invites in has a purpose.

One thing is certain: the Buffaloes’ players have had more success this season, both on and off the field, than many expected.

Well, there’s a reason he is called Coach Prime!
