Dolphins Tyreek Hill On Why QB Tua Tagovailoa Is Like LeBron James

The Dolphins, one of the league’s three unbeaten teams, are the league’s hottest team right now following a record 70-20 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 3. Midway through the game, fans at Hard Rock Stadium yelled “M-V-P” for Tagovailoa, who now leads the NFL in EPA per play and passing rating, among other things.

The Miami Dolphins are as hot as the heat in South Florida, and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is a big reason for their 3-0 start.

In 2023, the 25-year-old signal-caller completed 71.3% of his throws while throwing eight touchdowns and only two interceptions. Miami’s offence, led by Tagovailoa, ranks #1 in most categories, including scores and yards.

Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins is thrilled with what head coach Mike McDaniel has done with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the rest of the squad so far this season.

“I tip my hat to Coach McDaniel,” Hill said on his “It Needed To Be Said” podcast. “He’s been doing a terrific job with Tua. The way Tua is playing right now, it’s definitely MVP-level. Being on the sidelines just watching the fans chanting “M-V-P” gave me chills in my body.”

Hill added, “It was almost like the LeBron (James) free-throw moment.”

“Every day at practice we’re having fun, we’re laughing,” added Hill, who joined the Dolphins during the 2022 offseason as part of a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs. “We’re doing the same

Throughout his career, James has had several MVP moments, earning NBA MVP four times and NBA Finals MVP four times. Tagovailoa has yet to earn an MVP award, but his second year under head coach Mike McDaniels’ plan looks to be working wonderfully for him and the Dolphin’s offense. Hill and Tagovailoa have the top offensive grades in the NFL, according to PFF. Hill is ranked first (94.0), and Tagovailoa is ranked second (92.2).

If Tagovailoa and the Dolphins continue to have the league’s most explosive offense, the odds will shift in his favor, as will the Dolphins’ prospects of making the Super Bowl.
