Watch: UFC Alexander Volkanovski Tries To Choke Out NBA Star Jamal Murray

NBA champion and Denver Nuggets player Jamal Murray joined UFC star Alexander Volkanovski for a brutal scramble on the wrestling mats in a new video published on Thursday.

Volk was challenged in the video to strangle out Murrays in 60 seconds or less using jiu-jitsu, a gentle and brutal martial art.

Volkanovski, at 5-foot-6, is used to being paired up against taller opponents on a daily basis. Despite his lack of height, the long-reigning featherweight champion has established himself as one of the most dangerous opponents in the cage.

Similarly, despite his 6-foot-4 stature, NBA standout Jamal Murray is frequently faced with opponents over seven feet tall on the floor. Murray, on the other hand, had a big height advantage during his latest grappling session with Alexander Volkanovski and challenged the Australian to submit him in under a minute.

More players are becoming interested in martial arts such as jiu-jitsu in order to improve their physique in their respective sports.

NBA star Anthony Davis has taken jiu-jitsu lessons near the Lakers’ training facility in El Segundo, California, over the offseason. Lakers fans are hoping that this strategy may boost AD’s durability on the floor as he continues to recover from injuries.

Then there’s the instance of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Alexander Volkanovski’s natural competitive drive contributes significantly to his success. He’s driven and desperate to win every second of every exchange, which leads to lengthy stretches of dominance. It’s a key component of his 13-0 Featherweight record, which has propelled him into the ranks of the all-time greats.
