Browns Fans Are Asking Suspension For Minkah Fitzpatrick Post Nick Chubb Injury

Nick Chubb was carried off the field in Pittsburgh on Monday after suffering a knee injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Browns Fans Are Asking Suspension For Minkah Fitzpatrick Post Nick Chubb Injury

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski revealed the news to the media after his team fell 26-22 to the Steelers on Monday Night Football at Acrisure Stadium, calling the knee injury serious.

“It (freaking) hurts,” defensive end Myles Garrett said after the game. According to NFL.com, Chubb most likely sustained several torn ligaments.

Chubb was hurt during a 5-yard run near the Steelers’ goal line in the second quarter. He was instantly ruled out. Chubb, who had already gained 64 yards on 10 attempts, tore his MCL, PCL, and LCL in the same knee in 2015.

Chubb was hurt as Pittsburgh Steelers defender Minkah Fitzpatrick lunged low and twisted the runner’s knee backwards. Fitzpatrick injured his chest on the play, but that hasn’t stopped Cleveland fans from accusing him.

There’s no reason to believe Fitzpatrick purposely targeted Chubb’s knee, but NFL players are supposed to avoid direct hits to the knee, and Browns fans have been asking for Fitzpatrick to be punished all night.

After the game, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that Chubb will miss the remainder of the season.

Quarterbacks and running backs from throughout the league were among the first on social media to respond to Chubb’s injury.

Fitzpatrick seemed to suffer a lower-body injury when hitting Cleveland’s running back on the same play as Nick Chubb’s horrific injury. Fitzpatrick delivered a direct hit on Chubb, leading him to be carried off the field. Fitzpatrick departed the game without being diagnosed with an injury. He was observed on the sidelines but was not immediately labelled as injured by the Steelers.

Fitzpatrick ended up reentering the game, as he was the player who prevented Jerome Ford from scoring a 70-yard touchdown to give the Browns the lead in the third quarter.
