Chargers QB Justin Herbert Is Going Viral For His Crazy Machine Gun Audio
The Los Angeles Chargers have only recently begun their 2023 season, and they are already 0-2. Brandon Staley should not have returned, and he appears to be aware that his seat is growing increasingly hot. While the QB Herbert is on a different high!
Chargers QB Justin Herbert Is Going Viral For His Crazy Machine Gun Audio
Despite all of this, a strange Justin Herbert audible may have been the most perplexing portion of the Chargers’ humiliating loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
A footage of Justin Herbert executing a crazy rifle-themed audible went viral during the game, exemplifying how frustrated Chargers supporters are with the team.
QB stats through 2 weeks:
Kirk Cousins: 708 yards, 6 TDs, 1 INT
Justin Herbert: 533 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs
Patrick Mahomes: 532 yards, 4 TDs, 2 INTs
Josh Allen: 510 yards, 4 TDs, 3 INTs
Trevor Lawrence: 457 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT
Joe Burrow: 304 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT pic.twitter.com/y8BZL1Uba8— vikesinsider (@vikesinsider) September 18, 2023
A particularly famous tweet stated that Herbert wasn’t truly audibling but was merely threatening head coach Brandon Staley, who is already on the hot seat after just two games.
Let’s fast forward to the fourth quarter’s closing minutes. The Chargers were attempting to construct a game-winning drive and faced a critical third-and-long situation. CBS cameras saw Herbert brandishing a “machine gun” and yelling out an apparent modification in the Chargers’ play call.

Herbert completed 27 of 41 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-24 defeat against Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans, which culminated on a game-winning field goal as time expired.
Next Sunday, the Chargers will try to grab their first win of the season when they face the similarly desperate Minnesota Vikings, who are also 0-2. Following that, the Chargers kick off their October schedule against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Rams will then finish the month with games against the Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and Chicago Bears.
I have no doubts about Herbert’s method, since he is a true superstar quarterback who processes the game like a high-tech cyborg. But I’d want to hear from whoever wrote this into the Chargers’ playbook. I don’t recall ever seeing a signal like this at any level of football.
