‘How did you screw up J-Lo?’ Asked NBA Star Anthony Edwards From Alex Rodriguez

In recent months, Anthony Edwards and Alex Rodriguez have become friends. The NBA player, 22, has rapidly gotten used to being around the MLB veteran.

Edwards apparently asked Rodriguez a highly personal question after getting to know him so well, but he did so in classic Edwards style. Craig Kilborn can be seen relating a story about Edwards and Rodriguez in a video that Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore shared.

“A-Rod is getting a relationship with Anthony Edwards,” Kilborn said. “You know, the famous thing. Ant didn’t know who he was, and now they’re friends. … So, then Ant got comfortable with him. He called over A-Rod and said, ‘I gotta ask you something, how did you screw up J-Lo?’ He did. That’s who Ant is, right? Isn’t that funny?”

In 2021, not long after their wedding was delayed because of COVID-19, Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez broke up. On August 20, Lopez and Ben Affleck celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary. Lopez has since remarried.

The tale serves as yet another illustration of Edwards’ cheery disposition and how he sees everything as having the potential to be humorous. On the basketball court, Edwards is a difficult opponent nonetheless, and it is obvious that he is headed for stardom.

At the FIBA World Cup, Edwards spent the summer playing for Team USA. Throughout the competition, Edwards has been a key component of the USA offensive and has received accolades from all quarters.

One of the ex-players who has heaped praise on Edwards for his aggressive offense and excellent athleticism is Nick Young, a former LA Lakers fan favorite.

“The league is about to be Anthony Edwards’,” Young said. “This is Anthony Edwards league now, the new MJ. That boy looks just like MJ out there. They should have gave it to Anthony Edwards. They would have never lost to Lithuania.”

Young continued by remarking that Edwards “looks like a star.” Aiming to be selected for his second All-Star game, Edwards will be starting his fourth season in the NBA. If the rookie guard can maintain his current growth trajectory, it won’t be long until he’s competing for a spot on an All-NBA team and guiding the Timberwolves deep into the postseason.

Team USA lost to Germany on Friday, September 8, in the semifinals of the FIBA World Cup. Despite Edwards’ outstanding summer, Team USA was unable to advance. In order to win third place, the team must now defeat Canada.
