After Novak Djokovic’s victory over Ben Shelton in the tennis player’s semi-final match at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Friday night, Tom Brady and his three children—sons John “Jack” Edward, 16, and Benjamin Rein, 13, together with daughter Vivian Lake, 10—met up with him.

The US Open posted a video of Brady, 46, entering the stadium and hugging Djokovic, 36, in a backstage area while he introduced his children and inquired, “How are you doing my man?” Brady then asked Djokovic, 36, how he was doing.

The Wimbledon 2023 champion, who was unable to compete because he did not have the COVID-19 immunization, advanced to the US Open championship match.
Djokovic easily defeated unranked American Ben Shelton in the semi-final, winning in three sets to get to the final.
After the game, he was spotted chatting with Brady, who had just recently announced his retirement from professional sports after being the most successful NFL player in history.

The retired football player afterwards advised the tennis legend to “keep kicking a–, like always,” to which Djokovic responded, “Trying.”
The US Open captioned the video: “Two [G.O.A.T.s] in the house at the #USOpen.“
Brady was keen to explain to Djokovic why he and his boys were not really there in Djokovic’s match against Shelton.

Brady replied, “I wish we could have seen you play tonight.” However, we had to wait until [the kids] finished their classes in Miami before flying up. But I had hoped you’d have the evening game.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was in attendance and Djokovic said after the game: “It was a pleasure to have Aaron in the stands tonight for the match. I’m hoping he enjoyed himself. Obviously him, Tom Brady being in my seat for Roland Garros finals and sitting next to my wife, was a huge honour. I have a relationship with Tom for several years. We go back. I have tremendous respect for him.”
