F1 Ferrari Driver Carlos Sainz Chased Down Thieves Who Tried To Steal His $540K Watch

Carlos Sainz’s spectacular podium finish at the Italian GP over the past weekend didn’t let down the Ferrari faithful. The Spaniard flew to Milan to celebrate after his outstanding performance. His joy, however, was short-lived as a robber tried to take his pricey $631,317 Richard Mille watch.

Fortunately for him, he was able to get his watch back while catching the burglars. The same video has now gained popularity, and the 29-year-old, who gasped for air throughout the incident, has gained notoriety.

The Spaniard then spoke about the event on X.

“As many of you already know, yesterday we experienced an unfortunate incident in Milano. The most important thing is that we are all OK and this will only remain as an unpleasant anecdote,” Sainz wrote.

“Many thanks to all the people who helped us yesterday, to the Milan police for their quick intervention and thanks for all your messages.”

It’s important to remember, too, that Sainz is not the only driver who has recently experienced robbery. In the past, burglars have also tried to rob people like Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris.

While Norris met a similar fate at Wembley Stadium in London during the England vs. Italy Euro 2020 final, Leclerc was robbed off his watch in Naples.

It’s interesting to note that on all three occasions, the burglars tried to steal the drivers’ Richard Mille wristwatches. Since many F1 drivers wear the business’s timepieces, the Swiss company is well known for its watches.
