Cardinals Coach Jonathan Gannon Was Mocked By NFL Fans For Giving An Awkward Speech

Given that Arizona is expected to be among the weakest teams in the NFL, Jonathan Gannon will have a difficult time in his debut season as the Cardinals’ head coach. Gannon needs to find a method to motivate his team to go above and beyond those targets while also catching some individuals off guard.

Cardinals Coach Jonathan Gannon Was Mocked By NFL Fans For Giving An Awkward Speech

A recent episode of the team’s Cards Flight Plan series has Gannon trying to motivate his group. He accomplished it, though, in a pretty odd manner.

In the video, taken from the show “Cardinals Flight Plan,” Gannon asks his players if they have “fire in your gut” and then declares: “I’m looking for f**king killers.” The problem? He says it in the flattest tone possible.

Not that he lacks knowledge of his task. As the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator only last season, he did assist in guiding them to the Super Bowl. He struggles, nevertheless, to deliver a stirring address. His attempt is actually very depressing.

“Who drove over here? Quick, let me see your hands. Who took the bus? Did you have fire in your gut? You did?” Gannon asked his team in a relatively subdued tone. “We’re here for a reason. Don’t get that twisted. O.K. we’re here for a reason to win games.

It’s not that Gannon lacks football intelligence. Although supporters of the Philadelphia Eagles will contend that it very well might be the case. However, it’s more about how he engages with his players.

Fans have questioned if the 40-year-old has the confidence to demand respect in an NFL locker room due to his lack of bluster.

After the Cardinals posted a new video on their YouTube account on Thursday night, those uncertainties persisted.

It’s not only what you say; it’s also how you say it. And sadly for Gannon, his delivery might need some improvement. In the words of one Twitter user, “He sounds like he’s reading a grocery list.”
