Hogan claimed to have stopped drinking alcohol abruptly at the start of the year in an interview with Muscle and Health.

“I was at a New Year’s Eve party and saw a bunch of stuff that I didn’t condone or like,” he said. “I saw myself in this environment, and I went, ‘You know what? I don’t know how I got here, but I’m done.'”

Terry Gene Bollea, as Hogan, spoke with “Muscle and Health” about the physical toll his career in professional wrestling put on his physique, his dependence on prescription opioids, and his battles with alcohol.

Anyone who claims that wrestling is phony should carefully consider the harm he has experienced.

“I had doctors writing me prescription after prescription, and all of a sudden, it became a vicious cycle,” Hogan claimed.

“I was hitting the pain pills hard because I’d had to endure 25 procedures, including ten to my back, facial operations from being kicked, knee and hip replacements and abdominal and shoulder surgeries.”

The “Hulkster” said that he frequently took prescription drugs to cope in addition to booze.

Hogan disclosed to Muscle and Health that he had more than 25 significant operations in the previous ten years. He noted that he was often given pain medication, and continued taking it when he was no longer in pain.

When the wrestling champion learned about cannabidiol, popularly known as CBD, he stated he quit using painkillers.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, although being from the marijuana plant, the substance does not make one feel high. It is promoted to cure a variety of diseases, although the advantages to health are still being researched.

Hogan said that former wrestler Ric Flair, former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, and Chad Bronstein—the head of Carma Holdings, a company that creates cannabis-based products for consumption—introduced him to it.

Hogan said CBD “took me to a place where my joints don’t hurt so much when I wake up. … I can tell as soon as the CBD hits my system, it calms everything down. … I noticed an immediate change as soon as I started it.”

Hogan claimed that he made the decision to create his own health company using CBD products after conducting his own study.

“I’m really focusing on helping people with their health, whether that’s guys coming back from the war, hardcore drug users or people who’ve got themselves into the prescription trap following illness or anxiety,” Hogan said.
