Iowa State Unveils Caitlin Clark Statue, Goes Viral
Not only has the current Naismith Player of the Year accomplished incredible achievements on the floor, but it appears that Clark’s fame has now spread off the court and into the Iowa State Fair.
Caitlin Clark has had a very good year. Although she was unable to help the Hawkeyes defeat LSU in the national championship game, her outstanding performance throughout the regular season helped propel her into the public eye.

In the most Iowa way conceivable, Clark has now found herself suddenly famous as a result of the life-sized butter sculpture in her image that recently popped up at the Iowa State Fair.
Every year, one million people attend the yearly festival in the Hawkeye State, but this one was particularly enjoyable for lovers of Clark. She was one of several well-known athletes who were given eternal life by a huge sculpture made of butter. Along with former Northern Iowa great and NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner and Iowa State standout Jack Trice, the first African American athlete to enroll at the institution, the 21-year-old was featured in an edible sculpture.

Now, the point guard has received what may be considered Iowa’s highest accolade in the shape of one of the butter sculptures that have been appearing at the Iowa State Fair ever since someone decided to use hundreds of pounds of the dairy product to build a sculpture.
Every year, the Butter Cow is the major attraction at the exhibition in question, but since 1996, it has also included “Companion Structures” that allow butter artisans to take a creative detour and showcase their other talents.

This poetry is just gorgeous. Throughout the season, Clark toasts her competition, then spreads it out before the following. The sculpture, which will be on exhibit during the Iowa State Fair alongside another former state star: quarterback Kurt Warner, was created using hundreds of pounds of thick creamery butter.
What happened to Butter Clark when the fair is ended is unknown. On the one hand, I believe there ought to be a toast breakfast for the entire state to consume the sculpture, but on the other hand, I consider how much dirt and crud is becoming embedded in the butter every second it is left out in an exhibition space.
