Megan Rapinoe Explained The Reason Behind Her Laugh After Losing Her Penalty Shoot Against Sweden said, “It’s a sick joke.”
The majority of football supporters would have placed their entire estate on Megan Rapinoe to score on her penalty kick against Sweden. After missing the team’s seventh penalty attempt in the team’s shootout against Sweden, the legendary USWNT player who scored a penalty in the 2019 Globe Cup final stunned the globe.
The two-time World Cup champion looked aside after the ball flew over the crossbar, and many people were shocked to hear him begin to giggle.

Since then, she has faced criticism for her response, with many followers questioning her attitude and calling it wholly inappropriate.
After the match against Sweden, Rapinoe was questioned about her smile after potentially missing a penalty that might have sent the USA home from the World Cup.
“It’s a sick joke. That’s why I had that smile on my face” Megan said while explaining in the mixed zone. “Like, ‘You got to be kidding me. I’m going to miss the penalty?’ I honestly can’t remember the last time missed a penalty. Not in a game for a very long time.”

She explained that she had complete faith in her ability to convert on the spot. “But that’s the way it goes. I’ve definitely thought about that before- it’s always a possibility when you step up there. But I thought I was going to make it. I thought everyone was going to make it.”

It was a terrible way for “Pinoe” to leave the US Women’s National team. The player admitted that she was prepared to leave despite it being a painfully disappointing way to cap off an excellent career for the Stars and Stripes.
“I feel so lucky and so grateful to play as long as I have and been on as many successful teams as I have, and be a part of a very special generation that has done so much on and off the field,” she said.

“Obviously there’s the immediate disappointment of being out of the tournament, but I’m OK. I’m ready in a lot of ways to be done, and I feel at peace with that,” at the end, Rapinoe said.
