Jalen Hurts Is Looking Up To NBA Legends To Improve His Performance

One of the NFL’s most promising young players is Jalen Hurts. This week, he said that two NBA icons were inspiring him to improve.

Hurts mentioned Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan as sources of inspiration for the cerebral part of his game when he spoke to Peter King on Football Morning in America.

“Every time you go into an offseason, for me at least, I look at guys like MJ and Kobe and how they diagnose their game,” Hurts said on FMIA. “Obviously two different sports, but trying to get better at my strengths and then turning my weaknesses into my strengths.”

They played a totally different sport, but the mentality applies to anything.

The Eagles’ star believes that using Jordan and Bryant’s strategies will enable him to become “a true triple-threat” on the field.

“I’ve always been a unique player,” Hurts said. “But embracing the rarity of being a true triple-threat… Throwing, running, and mind. For a long time, people said guys like me couldn’t think or couldn’t process. Trying to put that to sleep.”

Jalen Hurts is the person most likely to disprove the critics. I mean, from his undergraduate days, the guy has drawn criticism.

There always seems to be something for people to criticize, whether it’s his stature or people’s doubts about his throwing abilities.

But with Jalen Hurts emulating NBA greats Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, the top quarterback for the Eagles may be on the verge of greatness.
