Round By Round Best Fantasy Value Running Backs (Through The First 5 Rounds)

To make sure you have the best chance to win your fantasy leagues, you have to walk out of every single round with what you think is the best valued player available. To help you here is the best player you can get in every single round.

Round 1:
It all depends on where you are picking, but in terms of value i think CMC id the best available, i have seen McCaffery go as late as 7 in some rounds which is just straight outrageous given his upside and position you can get him at. The 49ers offense uses Christian McCaffery in just about every single way possible, in the passing game, as a 3 down bell cow, you name it CMC does it. If you are picking past the 1.05 and CMC ends up in your lap, make sure to take him because he won’t upset.

Round 2:
Tony Pollard is a very solid pick for the second round, we have seen him dominate in Dallas all of last season. Now with Zeke Elliott out of the picture we will probably see Pollard get a lot of the red zone snaps, which Zeke carried most of that load since 2017. Pollard does pretty much everything you would want in a back and he is also running behind one of the best offensive lines in football, so i see no reason why the production won’t be their for Pollard now that he will get around 280-350 touches on the ball.

Round 3:
Josh Jacobs led the NFL in rushing yards last year and now he is going in the 3rd round? Sure there is the potential he might sit out but the upside with him is still there and there is no doubt he can finish as the best rusher in the NFL once again in 2023. If you can secure 2 elite WRs through the first 2 rounds and then Josh Jacobs, i would be very satisfied, but it does come with the risk that be may sit out.\

Round 4:
Jahmyrr Gibbs is another RB you might want to consider drafting in the 4th round, the Lions have came out and said they are going to use this man EXCESSIVELY. I don’t expect nothing less of a great season from Gibbs, the Lions wouldn’t have drafted a running back within the top 12 if they didn’t see something they really like in Gibbs, especially when David Montgomery is on the roster. And thats why i would bank on him to have a excellent rookie year.

Round 5:
Dameon Pierce is going to go absolutley ballistic in 2023, playing behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, and he is in a run first offense. Pierce showed last year how hard he is to bring down and how much of a big play threat he really is. There were questions to Pierce’s game coming out of college but in his rookie season he answered them all. If he is healthy for the entirety of his rookie season, he is going to be a top 10 back in football behind that Texans O-line.
