Torrential Storm Floods Fenway Park Cancelling Mets-Red Sox Game
On Friday night, Fenway Park was inundated with water during the Boston Red Sox’s home game against the New York Mets.
When the storm system approached Fenway Park in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Mets leading 4-3, it had already caused flooding in Massachusetts and was moving into the Boston region.

The game will restart on Saturday at 2:10 p.m. ET after being stopped for approximately two hours. The Red Sox announced that the scheduled 4:10 ET game on Saturday will instead start at 7:10 ET.
Play will continue on Saturday afternoon at Fenway Park as part of a day-night doubleheader with the Mets holding a 4-3 lead.

The Red Sox-Mets game finally had a rain delay in the fourth inning as the weather continued to deteriorate.
A few obviously sober and positively not intoxicated supporters started taking matters into their own hands by putting on a show for everyone to watch by going completely crazy in the flooded spaces because they had nothing else to do and didn’t know the game would eventually be canceled.

Videos OF people (mainly men) sliding, belly flopping, dancing, and swimming through the copious amounts of water that were flooding the Fenway Park hallways have gone viral.

Red Sox designated hitter Justin Turner tweeted a video of the tunnel leading from the locker room to the dugout to demonstrate how severe the rain was on Friday night. Turner went through the flooded tunnel while wearing what seemed to be garbage bags over his uniform pants and shared the footage on Twitter.
