Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Is Highly Motivated: ‘No more double-digit interceptions’
Dak Prescott hasn’t allowed one unsuccessful season to make him lose faith.
The Dallas Cowboys franchise quarterback feels he is better than what he showed in 2022 and that the mistakes were occasionally simply not his fault after leading the NFL in interceptions with 15 in only 12 games played.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Is Highly Motivated: ‘No more double-digit interceptions’
Dak Prescott, who played quarterback for probably the most well-known franchise in the NFL, led the league last season with a career-high 15 interceptions. In a subsequent Divisional Round loss to the 49ers, he added two more interceptions.

He is aware of how intensely his errors are being scrutinized.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Prescott remarked, “I know who I am, and you can go back and take away half of those off drops,” during his youth camp earlier in July. I’m not saying the receiver is to blame, but if you cut it in half, people start talking about them instead of it.

According to NFL.com, four of his interceptions throughout the season were caused by receiver deflections, but even with them removed, a quarterback who signed a four-year, $160 million contract in 2021 shouldn’t have 11 interceptions to 23 touchdowns.
“We are a talking point,” the Cowboys QB said at his youth football camp earlier in July, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “As you find something to talk about, that’s the first thing to go to.”
How many interceptions will Dak Prescott throw this upcoming season? 🤔

The 29-year-old thinks his turnover totals will go down for the upcoming season since head coach Mike McCarthy is also the de facto offensive coordinator and calls plays.
“Mike does an amazing job with those guys,” said Prescott, who has thrown double-digit INTs four times in his career. “They know where to be, why to be, when they’re getting looked at. That’s going to be a big jump.
“This year, I won’t have 10 interceptions.”
Just a reminder that not all interceptions are on the Quarterback. Dak Prescott took a lot of heat for INT’s that were flat out on his WR’s pic.twitter.com/VepEYysRpM

During an interview with reporters on July 8 at his yearly youth camp, Prescott spoke the phrase that attracted widespread notice. Prescott wanted to convey that better connection with his receivers will prevent turnovers, especially those brought on by deflections.
Prescott clearly wants to cut down on interceptions this season, despite the uproar surrounding the misquote.
There are people on this planet, who’ll see this interception and they’ll tell you “as a leader, Dak Prescott needs to take the blame for that INT”..
I just want to know how that fixes anything? Regardless of who’s fault it is, the INT’s need to stop. If we’ve determined INT’s… pic.twitter.com/rJMFmbKPhk
