Skip Bayless Ranted On LeBron James & His Retirement Rumors

The Los Angeles Lakers’ remarkable postseason run came to an end when they were swept by the eventual NBA champion Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. After the dust settled in the postgame press conference, LeBron James hinted that he might consider retiring this summer. Skip Bayless has a lot to say on this rumour.

Skip Bayless Ranted On LeBron James & His Retirement Rumors

LeBron was in disarray after his humiliating loss to the Denver Nuggets. At the age of 38, he had just finished his 20th season in the NBA. It was expected that The King was evaluating his future after a defeat in the books. Fortunately, he’s opted to keep playing, despite the worries of many.

Although James just overtook Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA’s all-time scoring record and was entering his 20th season, the four-time NBA champion has often stated that he intends to play with his son Bronny before retiring from the sport.

LeBron James recently made headlines when he revealed at the ESPYs that he will be playing in the NBA for a record 21st season. He first said that he could be considering retiring just a few weeks ago.

No one really thought James was thinking about retiring because Bronny had another year before being eligible for the NBA. Nevertheless, he felt obligated to declare his comeback at the ESPYs, which came as no surprise to anybody, notably Skip Bayless.

Skip Bayless of FS1 is criticizing LeBron James for his bizarre treatment and “media manipulation.”

Bayless, vented on Sunday. LeBron James and the NBA media came under fire from him for failing to bring attention to the embarrassing sweep.

Bayless said, in part:

“Since his rookie season in the NBA and my rookie season on national television, I’ve attempted to tell you about LeBron James time and time again.

“Obviously an all-time great player, but also all-time great media and fan manipulator. He’ll be so incredibly insecure, so thin-skinned, such a blame-deflecting diva, always trying to change the narrative of his failures and sometimes his epic failures.”

The “Undisputed” host continued to mock the King in a subsequent tweet:

“REMEMBER: The Lakers had 4 great chances to beat Denver in 4 straight 4th quarters – and lost all 4 because Le’GOAT’ shot 7-23 in those 4th qs and 1-10 from 3 and failed to hit the rim with 2 late shots in Game 4. Just embarrassing. No closer, No MJ, No clutch gene.”

However, given that he has established a reputation as one of the most vocal critics of James among well-known commentators and is always criticizing the star forward for every play he makes, whether it is good or bad, Bayless’ response isn’t all that unexpected.
