Carlton Davis: Post Veteran QB, Buccaneers Doubters Might Have To Face The Reality
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team will start a new era. In an effort to give the Buccaneers a breath of new air and propel them back into success, the team and coaching staff have been changed. The most notable shift occurred very soon after the conclusion of the previous season when Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, made it known that he intended to retire and stay retired. Regardless, the team’s CB Carlton Davis believes they will make it!
Carlton Davis: Post Veteran QB, Buccaneers Doubters Might Have To Face The Reality
After a 23-year career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady declared his ‘for good’ retirement from the NFL back in February. His choice was made after a disastrous 2022 season during which the seven-time Super Bowl victor battled personal problems.

Tom Brady’s absence was downplayed by Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Carlton Davis, who said that the NFL was about to have a “rude awakening.”
Cornerback Carlton Davis of Tampa Bay had a message for those who think the Buccaneers would significantly regress once Tom Brady retires.

“We’re about to do it to ‘em,” Davis told GoLongTD.com. “Anybody who feels we’ve lost Tom — and lost something — is going to be in for a rude awakening. A rude awakening. Tom was a great addition for us, but obviously it’s a team sport. Obviously, you need components to be successful. We still have those components. And I’m only getting better.”
The rest of the NFL was also the target of Davis’ declaration, either in a threat or a promise.

“We’re going to wreck s–t. Like, wreck s–t. Interceptions. Turnovers. Plays will be made. I will say. Plays. Will. Be. Made,” he said.
Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield, both of whom were selected first overall, are vying to follow Brady. Although Mayfield had a difficult year with the Carolina Panthers last year and Trask is entering his third season of football, Davis is certain that the Buccaneers will perform admirably in 2023.
