Reports: Jaguars Set To Sign Josh Pederson, The Son Of Head Coach Doug Pederson

It seems as though everything went well for the Pederson family.

After reaching an agreement with an NFL team, Josh Pederson, the son of Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson, had his USFL contract cancelled earlier this week. And one rumour claims that his father happens to be the team’s leader.

Reports: Jaguars Set To Sign Josh Pederson, The Son Of Head Coach Doug Pederson

He had brief opportunity in the NFL following a good career at the University of Louisiana-Monroe, playing for the San Francisco 49ers in 2021, the New Orleans Saints in the same year, and the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022.

As Doug Pederson will now have the honour of coaching his own son, the anticipated signing holds a special personal weight.

Draft Diamonds has reported that Josh will sign with the Jaguars. The 25-year-old son of Jaguar’s head coach may be the newest Jaguar if Pederson himself liked a tweet confirming the validity of the news.

Josh’s performance with the Jaguars is yet to be seen, but the chance to play with his father may be a turning point in his progression as a player.

After Birmingham Stallions kicker Brandon Aubrey, who signed with the Dallas Cowboys this summer, Josh would become the second USFL player to get a contract.

In 10 games in 2023, Pederson finished second on the Gamblers in both catches (24) and receiving yards (325).

Under the direction of head coach Doug , the Jacksonville Jaguars advanced significantly last season, reaching the playoffs and pulling off an astounding comeback victory over the Chargers despite being down 27-0.
