Ja Morant Speaks On 25 Game NBA Suspension: ‘They gon feel me’

Ja Morant will serve a 25-game suspension to begin the 2023–24 NBA season, but once he is permitted to return to the floor, he has a message for everyone.

The NBA finally disciplined Morant for his second instance of flashing a gun, this time while in a moving vehicle on his friend Davonte Pack’s Instagram Live, which led to the long-awaited ban.

Since the NBA announced in June that Ja Morant would be suspended for 25 games for brandishing a pistol during an Instagram live video, he has largely kept to himself on social media.

Morant, who was due to earn $33.5 million this next season, will forfeit around $7.5 million, or $300,000 each game, as he will not be paid for the first 25 games.

The two-time All-Star has continued to improve his “mental health and decision making” during the offseason, but that hasn’t prevented him from reiterating his desire to return better than ever next season, especially with the Grizzlies’ addition of Derrick Rose.

“Watch what type of season Ja has next year with D rose connected to his hip all year long,” Thomas tweeted Wednesday afternoon. “Once he gets off suspension he will have his best season yet. That D Rose presence going to have him on some MVP s–t… Watch!”

Morant was drawn to the remark and responded on Twitter by retweeting Thomas’ initial statement.

“you too loud OG. They gon feel me fasho,” Morant wrote on the social media platform.

After posting that tweet, Morant had another to add an hour later that appeared to be in connection to what he was experiencing at the time.

“you know life ain’t tied with a bow but it’s still a gift tho..yeah life ain’t fair but it’s still good tho, it’s a blessing just to be here..,” Morant tweeted.

Following the NBA Finals, the league punished Morant for 25 games, however commissioner Adam Silver did state that the league waited until the Finals were done so as to not interfere with the two teams that battled to get there.

However, it’s possible that Rose’s experience and presence in the Memphis team’s locker room may help Morant regain his reputation.
