Yankees Fans Booed After Aaron Hicks Tribute Video Was Played At The Stadium
Having recently been released by the New York Yankees, Aaron Hicks made his way back to Yankee Stadium on Monday. But this time, the outfielder already had a Baltimore Orioles uniform on thanks to Hicks’ signing with them soon after parting ways with the Mets.

As it turned out, Yankee supporters opposed the notion of honoring Hicks. He was booed repeatedly as they made their opinions about it quite apparent.

“They’re normally pretty tough on visiting players,” Hicks said Monday about Yankees fans. “I’m not really worried about that too much. I’m just here to pretty much go about my day and try to do everything possible to help my team win.”

In the Orioles’ 6-3 defeat to the Yankees, he was booed during pregame introductions, again during his first at-bat, again during a tribute video in the second inning, and again during each of his three additional at-bats.
“I mean, it’s kinda just what I expected,” Hicks told The Post postgame. “I grinded eight years with the team. Had some great moments over there. And kinda how things were going this year and come back and kinda get booed again, kinda just what I expected.”

In 76 plate appearances, Hicks hit.188/.263/.261 until the Yankees designated him for assignment. The 33-year-old soon recovered in Baltimore, and as of Monday had a slash line of.263/.379/.475 in 26 games.
The 33-year-old was even grinning slyly as he watched the audience boo him angrily. It goes without saying that the Yankees fans weren’t eager to receive him back with open arms.
Aaron Hicks was vociferously booed before his first plate appearance. He was then booed again when the Yankees played a highlight reel before the bottom of the second inning. He spoke prior to the game.
“A change of scenery has been good," Hicks said. https://t.co/Je3gGkUUfX
