Kevin Durant Slams Fans On Twitter Spaces: “how ya’ll consume the game is trash”

Prior to the NBA trade deadline last season, Durant was traded from the Nets to the Suns, and he has never shied away from getting involved in Twitter arguments.

Speaking to the gathering, he attacked the way fans consume the game and the pointlessness of player rankings.

“I just think how y’all even look at the game is whack as f—k,” Durant said in a clip recorded from the session. “You factor in team success when you talking about players. I  just think how y’all consume the game is trash, like are you good or not?

“I mean some things could be that simple. Are you just good or not? I mean, a lot of people have seen it for a long time brother and it’s OK. These lists don’t really mean nothing anyway, so why are you getting so upset about ’em?”

The two-time NBA champion chuckled at how players are compared to one another depending on a team’s performance. He believed that a straightforward inquiry into a player’s skill level would suffice.

One of the athletes of his generation who has received the most criticism is Kevin Durant. Fans were furious when he departed the OKC Thunder in 2016 to sign with the Golden State Warriors. When Golden State won championships in 2017 and 2018, Durant was unquestionably the team’s top player.

Despite having minimal team success outside of the Golden State Warriors, Durant, 34, defended himself by saying that top five rankings don’t really mean much to true fans and that he has proved himself on the floor.

Midway through this season, the former MVP was sent in a huge deal to the Phoenix Suns. In the Western Conference semifinals, he played with Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Ayton, but they were defeated by the Denver Nuggets anyway.
