Tom Brady Promises Rookie QB Will Levis After NFL Draft First Round: “Success Will Be Sweeter”

Will Levis, a rookie quarterback for the Tennessee Titans who surprisingly fell to the second round of the NFL selection, is getting some inspiration from Tom Brady, another quarterback who previously found himself waiting around on selection day.

Together with several other current and former NFL players, Tom Brady worked with Fanatic to create a special film honoring this year’s rookies. The great seven-time Super Bowl champion gave encouraging speeches to Will Levis and Anthony Richardson in the touching video.

Levis, a 23-year-old quarterback, was generally predicted to go in the first round but instead fell into the second round.

The Tennessee Titans did not choose him with the 33rd overall pick until day two of the 2023 NFL Draft. Before the New England Patriots chose Brady, then 45, they had to wait until the sixth round and the 199th overall choice.

And he continued to succeed, winning seven Super Bowls—six with the Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a remarkable 22-year career, Brady is recognized as the best football player of all time.

Levis talked openly about his feelings after being chosen about being passed over in the first round despite widespread expectations that he would be chosen by one of the top teams.

“Last night was tough,” Levis told ESPN. “I knew that what was meant to be was going to happen. It’s one of those things where you feel like you’re going to handle yourself and be composed, but then the waterworks started flowing and just emotions got overwhelming.”

Brady, 45, and many other famous players surprise some of the league’s rookies in a new social media video posted by sports retail business Fanatics to motivate them for the upcoming 2023 season.

“Waiting around on draft day, it sucks,” Brady said. “I know the feeling.  It’s not easy. But I promise you one thing, it’s going to make everything that happens from this point on that much sweeter.”

Another rookie quarterback, Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts, who stated he had never heard anything quite like Brady’s lecture, received some powerful words from Brady as well.

“A lot of great friends tell me you’re a better person than you are a quarterback, which says a lot because I’ve seen some of those throws you make,” Brady told Richardson.

In the film, both active NFL players and former legends like Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, George Kittle, Jerry Rice, and Peyton Manning offered encouraging words to newcomers.
