Packers WR Romeo Doubs Believes Absence Of QB Aaron Rodgers Won’t Make A Big Difference
After Aaron Rodgers leaves the Packers, many observers anticipate a decline in the team’s performance. Romeo Doubs, a receiver with the Green Bay Packers, is not one of them.
After switching from Rodgers to Jordan Love, Doubs appears to believe the Packers will be alright.

Jordan Love, the new player in command of the offense in Green Bay, has an unpleasant job: he must succeed Aaron Rodgers, who engineered a trade to the Jets this winter after 18 years with the Pack and was a 10-time Pro Bowler, four-time NFL MVP, and Super Bowl 45 champion.
Doubs doesn’t think there will be a downturn either. At all.

“I think Jordan is a really good quarterback,” Doubs recently told Dennis Krause of SpectrumNews1.com. “When you go from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan, Aaron was a really great quarterback, but I believe Jordan can do the same exact thing. So I don’t really see what’s the big difference.”
“I see a progression,” Doubs said. “I see it going up. I don’t see the Packers going down. I only focus on our room and our team in this organization. This organization is historic, and it’s only winning. That’s all. When you hear Green Bay, it’s no losing, it’s only winning.”

In April, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur compared some of Doubs’ motions to those of current Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro and former Packers star Davante Adams. Doubs is now confident in saying that Love can truly match his predecessor’s remarkable achievements.
Doubs gave a strong endorsement with that statement, especially in light of the fact that Green Bay declined to exercise Love’s fifth-year option. Rather, the chose to sign him to a one-year extension, which, while structured like a fifth-year option, costs him around $10 million in guaranteed compensation.

It remains to be seen if Love can establish himself as a long-term replacement for Rodgers, but encouragement from Doubs and other teammates will only boost the quarterback’s self-assurance. Last year, Doubs tied for third place among Rodgers’ most targeted receivers. He finished fourth in receptions, yards (425), and receiving touchdowns (three), catching 42 passes on 67 targets.
