Kansas City Chiefs Fans Are Going Gaga Over A Pass Made By Justyn Ross At Practice Sessions
Justyn Ross, a second-year wide receiver and former standout for the Clemson Tigers, has received a lot of praise from Mahomes this offseason. And on Wednesday during organized team activities (OTAs), Mahomes and Ross showcased their chemistry. Of course, the footage of Mahomes’ pass to Ross was made available by the Chiefs social media staff.
Ross distinguished himself while a student at Clemson by excelling against Alabama in the 2019 National Championship game. His impressive performance included six catches for over 150 yards and a touchdown, helping the Tigers secure a 44-16 victory.
#Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has consistently praised former #Clemson star WR Justyn Ross, who didn’t play last year due to injury.
Now we’re getting to see them in action at OTA’s… 🚀🚀

Ross added 865 yards to his total receiving yards from the previous season, his rookie campaign, which saw him surpass 1,000 yards in a single season. He grabbed eight touchdown receptions as a sophomore after catching nine as a rookie.
But at that point, the effects of the wounds began to show. He underwent neck surgery to address a congenital issue, which caused him to miss the whole 2020 season. When he came back in 2021, he only managed 524 yards and three touchdowns.

He was subsequently acquired by the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, but foot surgery kept him out of action for the whole previous campaign.
As if Chiefs supporters couldn’t possibly be more excited, Mahomes tweeted the video and included the “eyeballs emoji” as his description.
“Justyn Ross is coming along,” Reid said, via James Palmer. “He feels good, his foot feels good, the surgery that he had worked out well up to this point. He’s made some nice plays for us out here. I know Pat’s got trust in him, so that’s good to see.” 😁 pic.twitter.com/BYOaSHULS5

When Mahomes was questioned about Ross, who missed the whole 2022 season, back in April, he extolled the virtues of his talent and hard ethic.
“Yeah, I mean, the talent is through the roof,” Mahomes said, h/t Arrowhead Addict. I think anybody can see that and I think he’s gotten better and better even though he wasn’t active all year long, he was in the building and he was able to see the guys, and how we do things and listening and being in some of the meetings and stuff like that. And so I’m excited for him to get out there and be able to get the reps and practice and, and get the, the little fine details that we like to do in this offense.”

Ross received praise from quarterback Patrick Mahomes in April, and head coach Andy Reid is also pleased with his performance during OTAs.
“Justyn is coming along,” Reid said, via James Palmer of NFL Media. “He feels good, his foot feels good, the surgery that he had worked out well up to this point. He’s made some nice plays for us out here. I know Pat’s got trust in him, so that’s good to see.”

Ross will now try to gain some playing time for the upcoming season, in which the Chiefs want to repeat as Super Bowl champs. However, the squad does feature a number of players in the position, including Rashee Rice, Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was selected in the second round of the draft. Ross is already making an impact at OTAs.
